This was our first visit to Trio and will certainly not be our last. The atmosphere and decor inside and out was very inviting. The employees were courteous, informative, and checked on us several times during our meal. Our dinners were awesome and prepared to perfection. We ordered the Mandarin Orange Cake for dessert and it was the absolute best. It was so light and melted in your mouth...we could have eaten the entire cake if we had one!! We highly recommend Trio and can't wait for our next trip to OBX, so we can once again enjoy this fabulous restaurant!!

TRIO was amazing, the cheeseboard had amazing options and sauces. The turkey, apple, and aged cheddar panini was delicious, as was the shrimp and grits and garlic shrimp. The shop also had lots of great cheese and foods to select from! Will definitely be back.

My wife and I were looking for a unique local eatery that stood out. We were looking for unique flavorful food for an early dinner and TRIO looked interesting. As we walked in, the shop was to the left and the eatery was to the right. But, right in front of you is a selection of fine cheeses that would make any charcuterie board jealous. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, we choose to sit inside and we were quickly greeted and brought our drink orders. We spoke to our server about some of the items on their small but delicious menu and we agreed that this odd little turkey and strawberry Panini looked interesting and full of flavor. So we went for the Panini with an iced tea. The tea was herb infused. After taking my first sip I knew that whoever was planning the menu was paying attention to the little details that make a difference. That attention to detail was really evident in the Panini too. The Brie, Pepper jelly, fresh strawberries and turkey came together in the perfect pairing. A pairing that, while outstanding on its own, would have been a true home run when paired with the right beer or wine. That was my mistake not theirs.
This is an establishment that I will definitely return to.
Once you finish eating, head over to the shop for a great selection of true craft beers and fine wines. They offer true craft beers here, not just the beers that have been bought up by Mega Corp beer companies that are trying to pass off extract flavored beers as craft beers.

Food was excellent (Prosciutto Chicken and Blackened Chicken Pasta), drinks were freshing (Strawberry Fields Forever), atmosphere was relaxing, definitely recommend for a nice date night

Cool place to eat and hang, great aesthetic and deep wine/ tap list. Food was off the chain, amazing, vibrant flavors and super fresh sea food. We ordered several of the evening's specials and they did not disappoint!
Our server was knowledgeable and could talk about the food as well as make solid recommendations. She was friendly and attentive, so kudos to her and the kitchen staff for a great meal and experience!
We loved that there were multiple vegetarian dishes and options for the two vegetarians in our party.

Really great restaurant/bar. They have a fun inviting atmosphere with wonderful staff. That said they clearly take everything seriously in the best way. Their whiskey selection isn't large but it's packed with all stars. The food is incredible, the atmosphere is fun, the wine and cheese selection is amazing. If you can't find something you like to eat or drink here, and don't have a great time it's your own fault.

7/28/23 Stopped in for dinner and sat at the bar. Service and food were excellent! Tried the Pineapple jalapeno wine cocktail and the rose sangria loved them both.
For dinner the Carolina Grilled Peach salad was delicious with feta cheese instead of the blue, pecans, onion, & mixed greens. The oyster stew made with Virginia oysters was prepared with a Cajun cream sauce & bacon served over Dijon mashed potatoes. My friend had the Jumbo Lump Crab Pot Pie with a house salad which she loved!
For dessert we got the Mandarin Orange cake, the desserts are scratch made daily and this one was yummy!
Highly recommend this restaurant and it also features a gourmet wine, cheese & beer shop.
