The facility is clean and well-cared for, management is tight, and repair services are prompt. Managers are affable and friendly. The concierge ("Lord of The Packages") is very good and organized. I left off one star for the slow, creaky elevators and the cramped and limited gym space. The gym needs to be built out and equipped with more options.

I have been a resident of Trio Apartments in Pasadena for 3.5 years, and unfortunately, a recurring issue has made my experience increasingly frustrating. Each fall, we deal with swarming termites in my apartment. Despite notifying management every year, the problem persists without any real resolution.

In 2024, the issue has been especially severe, with me having to kill 25-50 termites daily. This is unacceptable, particularly considering the rent of $3,700 per month, plus additional mandated fees. I expect a complex at this price point to be better prepared for termite season. It’s extremely concerning to wake up to termites in the bed, and it’s unacceptable for this to continue without meaningful action from management.

Do not live here. The fire alarms go off and disturb your peace and management does nothing to stop them. They test them for two days in a row non-stop and then on top of that, the alarms go off whenever anyone smokes. There are no cameras to stop or catch the smokers and the alarms go off so often that no one heeds it like a real fire anymore. So that’s dangerous as well. Do NOT live here, it’s a nightmare for your peace of mind because the alarms are not a normal alarm like a house. They are louder and can not be silenced inside your apartment.

Living at Trio for a month now has been a very positive experience. The leasing agent Erick, the shipping and receiving agent and the maintenance engineer Alfonso have all been extremely helpful, attentive and thorough. The amnesties here have been fantastic. Of course the location is prime and for much of the week I don’t even need to use my car since many of my needs can be taken care of with a short walk to dining, grocery shopping and entertainment. My 8 year-old son also loves it here which makes me feel like I’m doing the right thing as a parent.

I've lived here for 3 years. It started great until the property sold out to greystar. Immediately the "luxury" aspect fell significantly. The management no longer cared about the trash left in the hallways, the bags of dog feces outside apartments. Dog urine would sit for so long in the hallway that it'd dry up to MAYBE be moped once a month.

There's been a string of breakins in the garage because they don't want to assess the poor security.

Also the air BnBs are rampant! You can see the locks on the right side of the gate when you enter the garage or union st entrance. There's definitely a false sense of security here.

The good side is that the maintenance guys are really good and timely.

The pool is not heated and after the first year it looses its luster. The staff isn’t to helpful due to a lot of turnover and corporate slowed the gym equipment to be broke and take forever to get fixed. The stationary bike has been broke for over two years.

It's okay. It's an old building, so things like to break. But the location is good, conveniently located close to many things. Price was reasonable during the pandemic. However, when you move out they charge you a lot of money. I would give this place a two and half star, two star for things that were broken and malfunctioning. Three stars for the location.
